A project created by the students at NuVu Studio in Cambridge, Massachusetts in collaboration with the metaLAB (at) Harvard and the Arnold Arboretum.

An interactive timeline showing when each plant in the Arboretum was acquired, with several other metadata. Also search by Genus, Family, and Country of Origin

This project uses data collected from color sensors to visually display conditions across the Arnold Arboretum. The Arboretum is split into four zones. Each zone displays the colors of the sky, ground and surrounding trees.

Circles is a visualization not of the plants themselves but the connections between them.

accession Time and Size

This project uses scatterplot graphs to show the relationship between the date a plant was acquired and its size.

accession Frequency

This project uses a bubble chart to show the relationship between the number of trees in each family of trees and the date that the first tree of that family was acquired.
